Today I finally watched “My Sassy Girl” which I’ve heard a lot about (though, a long time ago) along with “Iron Man” with Amy as a kick-off of sorts to our much anticipated Epic Week. The sudden dose of MSG was Amy’s idea–having seen it herself a few times already, she thought it’d be a sappy film that I would actually like to watch. Indeed, I am not too ashamed to admit, it was a good movie. If you (i.e. anyone out there who happens to have an Interest) want a nice movie to laugh and cry (okay, not really for me, but if I had a heart, there were some stellar “moments”) about, this movie’s a sure bet.
We also watched “Iron Man” while sharing a Chai chiller (smoothie drink?) from Second Cup at the Sheppard Grande Theater. There were a total of about six people in the theater with us two included. I expected very few people to be there since “Iron Man” opened weeks ago but six?! That’s pretty poor. Then again, we were watching the 3:15 showing so most people still have school and work. Anyway, it was mostly empty and I don’t feel at all bad about having (probably) seriously disturbed the four other people with our raucous mirth. Well, there’s no use fighting back such pure and delicious joy that is to be expected with gizmos, humour, and explosions.
Despite the cloudy, rainy skies and a minor headache that persisted throughout the day, my day was not in the least bit a pain. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Wonderful films and wonderful company. I’d definitely recommend all the stuff I just whored out (to reiterate, the films “My Sassy Girl” and “Iron Man” along with Second Cup’s tasty Chai Chiller, and even the Grande Sheppard Theater, to an extent), though I don’t know if it really would be everyone’s cup of tea. Some believe that perceptions of experiences are heightened and ameliorated by positive stimuli not necessarily directly related to the experience itself. Theorize, now!
