With all the awesome stuff doing down this Epic Week (yes, this one, hinting that there are very likely to be future Epic Weeks to come), I cannot help but feel quite a bit of happy in my shoes. On that note, here’s an artist, Kaela Kimura, that I discovered yesterday and her song, “Happiness” which is, quite literally, a very happiful music video. Funky singer with funky expressions. Have a watch (check out the higher resolution version if your connection can handle it). Amy says “she has a cute face” and Amy’s more than usually right. Lyrics (romaji Japanese and then English translation by Cori) after the jump.
Itsumo ima mo donna toki mo
Shiawase ni dakarete itai
Chippoke na kono kimochi
Wakaru desho, yeah!
I always, even now, at any time,
Want to be held by happiness.
You probably understand
my small feelings, yeah!
Asa mo hiru mo yoru mo ima mo
Kanjiru mono ga tarinai nara
Setsunaku nante naranaide
Me wo tojite sotto kiite
Morning, noon, night, even now,
What I feel is not enough.
Don’t get sad–
Close your eyes and listen softly.
Mekubase shiteru
Anata ga
Toru ni taranai jinsei demo.
You’re winking,
Even if yours is a trivial life.
Dreaming and singing, laughing.
Crying and dancing, fall in love.
Subete ga chippoke na tsumi kasane
Atsumetara todoku to omou no
Kimi to onaji toki wa itsumo meguru
Dreaming and singing, laughing.
Crying and dancing, falling in love.
Every little thing adds up.
When you put them all together, it’s enough.
I’ll always go the same time as you.
Itsumo ima mo donna toki mo
Umaku tsutaerarenai kedo
Chotto shita tokoro ni
Me wo mukeru no mo daiji ja nai
I always, even now, at any time,
I couldn’t say it well, but,
Even looking towards something trifling
Isn’t important.
Tsumetai machi ni
Uchinomesaretara
Anata ja nakunaru wa
When you’re beat up
By the cold town,
You die.
Kyou wo norikoeraretara
Ashita datte onaji hazu deshou
If I can overcome today,
Tomorrow should probably be the same.
Chiisakutemo sukui you ga aru no!!
Kanjite onegai
Anata no happiness!!!
Even if it’s a little, you have help!
Please feel your happiness!!!
- Kaela Kimura, Happiness!!!
You just know she means business when she uses a full three exclamation marks to denote her happiness.
