5 updates worth mentioning:

  • Team Fortress 2: I gave Stephen monies last week, and have been thoroughly enjoying the Pyro class ever since. I shall be doing these kinds of Steam purchases for myself (though not at all frequently) once I get my credit card in the mail. The main one I’m looking at is Bioshock for PC over Steam.
  • Ultimate Frisbee: yesterday I went to play a couple hours (yes, hours) of frisbee on the field of ACI. Needless to say, it was outrageous fun.**
  • Foods: there is talk of ribs and/or wings (or something like that) for tomorrow night with some church’lings and then a possibly outrageous Japanese feast with Grant’s family this Thursday. I intend to recover from my lack of healthy eating as of late.
  • Baby the Bass: she is now, more or less, finished. I am lacking a string retainer (that I had hoped I wouldn’t need) so right now the A and D strings may buzz from time to time. This is caused by the placement of the machine heads of the two strings in question, furthest from the nut. Once I find and install the retainer, I will definitely post some more photos and maybe even a video of my child.
  • Love Affair: my latest somehow involves PDA and acting aloof at large social events. Consequentially, strangers and acquaintances alike find me either “super cool!” or “what a jerk!”, either of which I would prefer over “oh he’s a nice guy”.

**Herman, Sherman, and I got there about an hour before we were scheduled to start playing, so we started warming up and tossing around. When we started the games (after more players arrived) we had two teams of five, with two subs for each team. This, I found out soon enough, was definitely not enough for a group of first-time players. Shivon, Nathan, and I ended up playing, at one point, nearly five or six points in a row. In the Ultimate Frisbee world, that’s like… well, that’s more or less unheard of unless they were fast points (which they were not). I ended up cramping both my legs and having to sit out a point or two for a breather. I’ve never pulled anything so hard that I couldn’t move my foot or toe for nearly a minute, so this feeling was totally new to me. I am still recovering and thus, did not leave the house today at all. Weaksauce.
