This Thursday, I went out and finally found my pair of Vans Eras from the Boathouse at Conestoga Mall. They were $54.99, cheaper than Get Outside (in Toronto) after factoring in bus token costs, and the same as ordering them online from Get Outside’s web site. My previous go-to shoes (a relatively nondescript pair of Nike skateboarding shoes) have been faithfully serving me since 2005. I have decided it is now time to start phasing them out and eventually giving them the cushy retirement in Carl’s Hall of Fame for their great and true service to my cause of “using stuff until it breaks/gives up on life entirely”.
Here’s to at another 5+ years of comfy strolling with these Vans.
