This week, there is plenty happening. After soundly roflstomping all over that Marketing midterm this past Friday, I still spent the rest of my weekend reading up for Human Resource quizzes, and finishing a lot of stuff for an Operations assignment. As for the remainder of this week:

5 things I’m expecting soon:

  • a catastrophic implosion of a group presentation for Marketing due this Thursday
  • an heroic lack of preparation for Operations’ pre-announced “pop” quiz next Monday, followed by the midterm next Friday
  • the delivery/arrival of my Operations Management textbook from Amazon, nearly two months into the term
  • a confirmation from M. Kratz (my previous supervisor at OpenText) that I’ve got my job placement there for the Winter work term
  • season 2 of the GSL Open StarCraft 2 tournament to be ragequit-inducing, nerd-mind exploding, and just a lot of geeky fun in general

I signed up for Earth 121 in the coming Winter term, while I will be on a work term at OpenText again. I’m quite excited about both these things—i.e. getting to go back to OpenText and studying some non-standard stuff on the side. Sure, Math and Business are plenty enough to keep me occupied, but I do miss me some good old fashioned science-based loving. If I remember correctly, Earth 121 will be an online course offered by the University of Waterloo about the earth’s crust, and… exploding stuff such as volcanoes and nerd-brains as of this morning, South Korea time.

That’s right! The second season of the GSL Open StarCraft 2 tournament started today and suddenly I will have something awesome to watch for the coming weeks. I think in general there is still quite a bit of stigma surrounding e-sports that… I expect to be dissipating as more and more people get into video gaming.
