Hi, loyal readers. In early December, I bought myself a Happy Hacking Keyboard (Professional 2) from iMav, the forum admin/host over at Geekhack.org. The keyboard was purchased from EliteKeyBoards earlier in 2010 as a spare (those who love HHKBs love them a lot) but was never used, so I got it new in box at a killer price.
Feature list:
- blank and white model, perfect for me as a Colemak user
- USB mini port for detachable-cable goodness for connection to the computer (no messy cords to worry about when storing and traveling)
- 2x USB 2.0 hub on the rear side of the board (i.e. facing the computer screen)
- 45 gram resistance, 4 mm travel Topre switches (like pillows and cotton candy)
- 1 lb, 3 oz (feather weight compared with Wordsworth, my Filco board)
- compact 60 key modified, US ANSI layout (everything you need and more with half the keys)
- 5 DIP switches for customization of some keys’ functions (toggle between Mac and Windows modes, customize modifier position)
I would’ve posted the pics sooner, but I needed to get back to my Mac in Waterloo (after the holidays) so that I could sync my iPhone and transfer the pictures over. Enjoy the gallery!
