The P.Pole (Test) Is Up!

After a couple hours of back ups and database duplicating, I am pleased to announce that the test environment for the P.Pole is up and running! I plan on using the test environment to play around with/tweak my theme settings. The end-goal is to take a very simple theme (such as the HTML5 compliant Toolbox theme I currently have loaded) and slowly craft it into something wholly my own. The reason I want to start from a skeleton (rather than true scratch) is that I want to be able to spend my time and efforts designing the aesthetic parts of the site, rather than reproducing the basic functionality (such as writing all the backend code that wraps query results in HTML and spits out the page content).

Anyway, if you are feeling adventurous you are free to check www.test.the-ppole.com periodically to get an updated look at what I am working on.

Note: I also did a backup, export, wipe, import of this, the main site. I changed the table prefix of the WordPress upon the fresh install for security reasons. For 99% of users, this will mean nothing (except maybe all my posts will show up as new RSS items, so you should just mark them all as read), but I did nuke my blogroll by accident. So, if you would like a spot back on my links section (and I haven’t already put you back on), leave me a comment here with your URL and I will put it back in the system asaply.
