A Fresh New Face

Dear reader,

If you are viewing this post/my blog from my domain (that is, at www.the-ppole.com) then you will probably notice a couple of nice little changes I have made to the look of my Tissue theme.

First off, the font toggle (at the top right, beside the sidebar toggle) is now working. I forget whether I mentioned fixing this, but it is most definitely operational now. If you have any troubles with the toggles or controls (eg: they don’t do anything) then clear your browser’s cookies and try again. I think I have fixed my scripts to avoid getting caught in “do not write” mode after corrupting a cookie. No more corruption and a safer cookie fetch are now in place.

Second, I have set up my blog to use Luxi Sans (eg: entry headers, entry meta data), Luxi Serif (eg: blog title, entry content), and Bebas (navigation bar) for various page elements. Here’s a screen cap of what it looks like to me:

Now you may be wondering, “But Carl, I like starting poorly constructed sentences off with conjunctions, and what if I don’t have those fonts installed on my computer unlike you?” To answer that, I should probably just point you at this pretty little page I found to illustrate what @font-face does. Kind of nifty, but mostly just satisfies my OCD need to ensure that everyone sees the same thing, literally down to the T. Unless you are using IE.

Aside: I saw this Tweet on my friend’s feed the other day and thought I should share.
