5 uneventful events worth eventually eventing:

  • I learned how to bake cookies (the coffee and sex kind) with Kris a few weeks ago. They were as big a hit as I could have ever hoped for a first try (i.e. yes, they were amazing and I have unrealistic expectations of my in-born talent). Mostly, though, it was Kristen’s magical skills that prevented me from destroying the kitchen and rest of the suite (excellently, both hers) in the process to emerge victorious over sugar, butter, flour, and espresso powder. According to Kris, they were a hit with her relatives, and according to Amy, they were also tasty. I’ve been itching ever since to make another batch (let’s!).
  • I recently started to learn to play guitar for a whole slew of extremely sinister reasons. These include having spare time, listening to the penultevil Daphne who Loves Derby, and having to express a certain feeling of utter pulverization for someone. I am now trying to scrape out a half-decent rendition of something mostly simple and easy, but am starving for a decent microphone to do it with. Until then, I will blame my sloppy sound safely on my existing mic (which isn’t so far fetched, since I naturally get nervous when I know I’m being watched). Anyway, thanks to Sherm’s wooden ex(ish)-lover (who is, incidentally, actually Herman’s ex-lover), I can hope to make music babies all night long much to the chagrin of my parents. That is what I call killing multitudes of birds with six strings.
  • I am half-done my Extended Essay (XSA) on C.S. Lewis and hope to finish it up with the few short days after my final midterm next Monday. So far, I’ve discussed about half the points (there are approximately nine, with stylishly blurred separations) that I wanted to mention in this essay. Not much else to talk about for this assignment, apart from the fact that the far-off deadline in late March indirectly results in much gleeful and immediate procrastination on my part here in January.
  • We have been slated for Thursday, the 31st of January since a week or two ago for a day filled with moderately involved sauntering and painfully relieving bantering! I’m psyched! Location and program are TBA (well, not really, unless you count after-the-fact gush-sessions as “announcing”). I am going to bide for ten more turns until then. Suspended animation isn’t nearly as fun as live action could potentially be!
  • I recently took in a pair of broken Sony headphones and am looking for a pair of Leightning LOF protective ear-muffs (the kind they use when they do the ratta-tat-tat with their hand-cannons) to house the actual speaker bits (the headband is the part that is broken/snapped). Without having had any luck (since in Canada, firearms aren’t nearly as worshiped as in the US), I’m still in possession of the broken headphones and am waiting for a chance to head over to the Home Depot to make a visual. If anyone knows where I can get a pair of these, please let me know. I did end up replacing the moldy muff-components of a pair of JVC headphones I own with the less moldy (and mostly girl’d up) muff-parts of the Sony’s. Yes, I sort of benefited from volunteering to fix something for someone else, but that was actually a random stroke of genius rather than a premeditated stroke of genius.
