And what will remain for another day?

My essay, that’s what!

Tomorrow, I will have quite a lot to do (mostly because I’ve decided I will 100% avoid touching my XSA on the Sabbath this time). My essay on Clive Staples Lewis is nearing its completion and I’m quite psyched for its (hopefully) triumphant conclusion tomorrow. I’ll be finishing up my second point” (I’ve thrown the usual conventions of strict structure out the window and have compensated with… awesome alliteration?) and will be moving onto my final point tomorrow.

I actually would have finished on Friday and Saturday to leave Monday (what exactly is Family Day?!) free for whatever might befall me but, as I contested to my mother, writing–to me–is a creative process. And you can’t rush creativity! Anyway, I’ll be creative tomorrow and finish my essay off.

I anticipate no small sense of relief when I finally finish this essay, since I’ve been working on it on and off since last June and I’m now quite a deal more informed about Lewis than I was when I started, but also quite keen on getting it off my mind. I also got a chance to read through some (though not all) of the Narnia books, something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time anyway.** I didn’t really know how to go about it at the start, and my process and focus gradually evolved into what they are now (which meant that I had to completely rewrite the first half of my essay at least three times). I am now quite pleased with how things have turned out so far.

In any case, I’ll be done with it soon. Here’s to slow and steady winning the race (tomorrow)!
