Today we started learning poetry in English class and we started with Olde English and Middle English poetry, both pretty neat to read aloud in class and listen to (Mr. Vidrih is a poetry wizard of sorts). Learning about the conventions and structure of these poems is also useful, since I actually like playing with language sometimes and trying to write creatively. It’s not rocket science, but it seems like it for now–I hope to change this fact after we’re done the course. Heck, if I’m feeling particularly reckless, I might even post a stanza or two up here for my readers and the world to flame. Should build character or something.
