Patent Pending 3: Corrugated Concrete

The other day I was driving on the highway when I suddenly felt very drowsy–it was Sunday morning, so give me a break. In any case, I managed to hit a rough patch of concrete in want of some serious repairing. The sudden reverberating sound and vibrations sent through the steering wheel into my arms jolted me awake. This is when I got this brilliant idea: why not purposely make patches of the highway slightly corrugated?

Implementing such a design on known trucking routes would do wonders. Such a design is simple enough and not particularly expensive to carry out. It could even save lives. Imagine the money one could save on energy drinks or stimulant drugs (e.g. “perky pills”) if something as simple as irregular patches of noisy concrete could do the job just the same without any of the addictive qualities or diarrhea. The health benefits would definitely be enough for me to be in favor of such a thing.

By placing them at irregular intervals and for only short spans of the roads would be enough to keep drowsy drivers (especially truckers and coach bus drivers who usually take on trips spanning many hours of uninterrupted driving) alert and awake. Traffic collisions avoided. Goods safely transported. Lives safely saved! All in all, I think I’m pretty much a genius, or something like that. Now, someone go make it and give me credit (and monies).
