Where In the World

My iPod’s progress here from China (because there are apparently none in all the lands of Canada, right) I have been tracking over the course of these past two days. If it left Memphis at 12:13 PM like the tracking says, then I’d expect it to arrive tomorrow at the latest. Hopefully, it does well before I leave for camp so I have time to charge, hack, and enjoy it.

Fries

*fry drops onto food court tray*

“Hm…”

“…”
*eyes fry*

“Don’t! Those trays are disgusting.”

*reaches for fry*

“Hey, I have to kiss that later!”

*leaves fry, resumes burger*

Zimmer Is An Awesome Name

I’m sure the critics and everyone else are raving about The Dark Knight (myself included). I intend to watch it again, later, when the crowds have died down (or off) and possibly in IMAX. Watching it in UA theaters in Causeway Bay, HK was okay, but the screens are not nearly as massive as those in Canadian theaters.

In any case, after watching The Dark Knight, Keith started humming (or rather, “dun dun dun”ing) a song from the movie, sounded like a chase theme. As it turns out, it was the theme from the chase scene in Batman Begins with the Tumbler that was slightly reworked for a scene in The Dark Knight.

info @ the P.Pole 07.28.08

I apologize for having been absent from the P.Pole for such a long time, but really, I’ve been quite pre-occupied. You see, I recently had a baby (guess who’s the mom) and I’ve been taking care of the finishes and details ever since I brought her back from Hong Kong in a wooden case. No, I’m not deranged or psychotic (well, at least this instance doesn’t prove it), I’ve just been secretly working on a bass guitar. Some people might go “Oh neat” but to me, I’m thinking it’s more of a “OH MAN, AWESOME” thing (though I guess it’s different for me, being the father and all). Yeah, I won’t elaborate any further until I’m thoroughly done sanding, staining, polyurethaning, drilling, and installing parts onto her. I’ve got everything but the pickups (which are en route) ready, and I actually just did the first coat on the body. You shall hear more about this, to be sure.

In other news, I went down to the Eaton’s Center Apple Store this morning with my father to go order a Macbook Pro and iPod Touch for a grand total of about $2500 before rebates. I thought they would be able to install my harddrive upgrade in-store, but the sales said that I’d have to order online. He then proceeded to walk me through the ordering (as a university student to be) the MBP and iPod through the online store with student discounts and rebate-ability. I didn’t catch his name (or read his name tag) but he was courteous and not overbearing like some other sales people (yes, I’m looking at you, girl from Catalog in Hong Kong). So in the end, I ordered everything at the discounted prices and the sales told me how to get my mail-in rebate. I am now patiently waiting for my Macbook Pro and 32 GB Touch to come in, like how I’m patiently waiting to see Amy for the first in months tomorrow. If you haven’t guessed already, I’m being sarcastic. Need. Huggles. Now.
